Maude Makes Another Comeback

Maude fans it’s true, a move back to the East side of Portland is in the offing. We should make our landing in the Brooklyn neighborhood the second week of October.
What does this mean in a practical sense? Maude will start to ramp up the efforts to either open a shop or perhaps a cart on the east side. Our preferred location is somewhere in the SE Division/Clinton area for a shop. Since it takes capital that we don’t currently have to open a “bricks and mortar” operation this is probably the longest shot in the short run. Though we never know what will unfold when we take the next step. So we are most definitely taking steps.
A food cart is more likely at this point. We are exploring options so if you have one you’d like us to consider, leave a comment. There is a nice little spot on the corner of SE 20th and Morrison that has caught our eye but at this point it is only an inspiration. There’s a GREAT CART there now, Wolf and Bear’s. We ate there last week and it was delicious and comfy! If we do a cart it takes away a main component of Maude’s, which is a space for people to meet and connect. That leads us to think we’ll explore having a second cart for sitting, maybe similar to the Grilled Cheese Grill.
In the short term, we are working on selling our dried herb blends on line through Amazon. Hopefully this will be up and running sometime soon. We picked up our labels and instruction sheets from the printer last week and now have to work on buying bar codes. Complications seem to pop up at every turn but so do synchronicities do too.
In the immediate - Maude is still available for individual blends. Feel free to contact us for your very own personalized special blend of perfect nutrition. We’ve been asked by a few friends to come and host a tea party, which we are happy to do. Again, just contact us to schedule something. We will be available after the first the middle of October.
