Rob Brezsny Sends a Maude-like Exercise for Englightenment

For those of you who don’t know the wonders of Rob Brezsny, we highly recommend everything about him. He is a dear friend to Maude. We first met him while shooting the movie in the San Francisco Bay area where he resides. His book Pronoia: How the Whole World Is Conspiring to Shower You With Blessings is a wonder; we recommend it to all Maude friends. In fact we like it so much we put it in the Maude store below.
Rob sends out delightful weekly missives through his Free Will Astrology. This week he posted this message on his Facebook page. After we read it, some wild frolicking and cavorting commenced here at Maude’s. Then we got out our pencils, opened our chakras and the wild writing began.
Here it is:
“Whether I shall turn out to be the hero of my own life, or whether that station will be held by anybody else, these pages must show.”" So begins Charles Dickens’ novel “David Copperfield.” Write that sentence yourself, and then keep going.
That should keep you busy for awhile!
After our smoking pencils went out, Maude gave this alternate exercise to balance out our still spinning brains.
Here it is:
“This is the question that’s propelled my life for decades now. It is really bewildering.” So begins Frances Moore Lappe’s book Getting a Grip. Write out your own question so that Frankie’s sentence will be the perfect ending to what you’ve written.
Now you know your question and your answer. Of course you know, you’re the only person who really knows. Even if you don’t know that just yet. So WRITE!
